This October, Diehl Subaru is proud to support Subaru Loves Pets and help make a difference for animals in our community. Throughout the month, we’re hosting and participating in adoption events, donation drives, and Subaru’s National Make a Dog’s Day. We invite local pet lovers, Subaru owners, and anyone who wants to help animals in need to join us!

You can also make a donation at our showroom throughout October. Whether you stop by for an event, bring a donation, or simply want to learn more about Subaru Loves Pets, we’re happy to help you get involved.

What Is Subaru Loves Pets?

Subaru Loves Pets is part of Subaru’s longstanding commitment to making a positive difference for animals and the communities they call home.

Through Subaru Loves Pets, Subaru of America and participating Subaru retailers work with animal shelters and the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to provide financial support and help more shelter animals find loving homes.

In 2026, Subaru and participating retailers are providing nearly $3.2 million in direct financial assistance to local animal shelters nationwide, with grants administered by the ASPCA.

The initiative supports organizations working to improve the lives of animals through adoption, rescue, transportation and access to important health services.

And the impact continues to grow. By the end of October, Subaru says that more than $75 million will have been donated to local and national animal welfare organizations since Subaru Loves Pets began.

Why Did Subaru Start Subaru Loves Pets?

For many Subaru owners, pets are a big part of the family and part of everyday life.

That connection is especially clear when it comes to travel. Subaru-commissioned research of 2,000 pet owners found that:

• 73% of pet owners surveyed said they’re more likely to take a road trip instead of fly specifically so they can bring their pet.
• 45% said they’ve turned down travel opportunities because their pet couldn’t be accommodated.

Those findings help explain why Subaru’s commitment to animal welfare fits so naturally with its customers and vehicles. From weekend road trips to trips to the dog park, Subaru vehicles are designed to be part of the adventures people share with the members of their family—including the four-legged ones.

How Does Subaru Loves Pets Help Animals?

Shelters and rescue organizations do important work every day, but they need community support and financial resources to continue helping animals.

Subaru Loves Pets helps provide those resources through grants, adoption events, donation drives, and other programs designed to support animals in need.

The initiative focuses on several important areas, including:

• Adoption: Helping shelter animals find loving, permanent homes.
• Rescue: Supporting organizations that care for animals in need.
• Transportation: Helping animals get where they need to go so they have better opportunities for adoption and care.
• Health services: Providing resources that help shelters address animals’ medical needs.
• Community involvement: Giving Subaru retailers and local communities opportunities to directly support nearby shelters and rescue organizations.

Supporting “Underdogs” on National Make A Dog’s Day

Subaru also created National Make A Dog’s Day, celebrated on October 22, to shine a spotlight on dogs who can sometimes have a harder time finding homes.

These special dogs, affectionately known as “Underdogs,” include older dogs and dogs with disabilities.

The goal is simple: give these deserving animals the attention they need to find loving families.

To celebrate, we invite you to stop by our showroom on the 22nd to pick up a goodie bag that can make your dog’s day!

How Is Money Raised for Subaru Loves Pets?

Subaru and its participating retailers support the initiative in several ways throughout the year and during special October campaigns.

For October 2026, Subaru is supporting the ASPCA through several customer-focused programs, including:

• Subie Texts: Subaru will donate $1 to the ASPCA for each new eligible subscriber who enrolls through the October PETS campaign, up to $25,000.
• Pet-Friendly Accessories: Subaru will donate $30 to the ASPCA for each purchase of select Genuine Subaru Pet-Friendly Accessories made through participating Subaru Parts Online retailers, up to $10,000.
• Animals Badge of Ownership: Subaru will donate $1 to the ASPCA for each Animals Badge of Ownership ordered during the campaign, up to $5,000.
• Retailer support: Participating Subaru retailers provide direct financial assistance to local animal shelters through grants administered by the ASPCA, along with hosting events and community activities.

These programs give Subaru customers multiple ways to support animals- whether they’re shopping for their vehicle, adding pet-friendly accessories, participating in an event or simply visiting their local Subaru retailer.

Whether you’re interested in meeting adoptable pets, supporting a local shelter, dropping off supplies or simply learning more about the initiative, we’d love to see you.

Consider Adoption or Fostering

One of the most meaningful ways to help an animal in need is to provide a safe and loving home.

If adoption isn’t right for you at the moment, fostering, volunteering or donating directly to a local shelter can also make a significant difference.

Subaru Vehicles Built for Life With Your Dog

Supporting pets isn’t the only reason Subaru and animal lovers make a natural match.

Subaru vehicles are designed around the idea that your vehicle should be ready for the life you actually live. For many drivers, that means having enough versatility for the whole family—including the dog.

Whether you’re heading to the dog park, taking your pet to the veterinarian, visiting family for the weekend or setting out on a longer road trip, Subaru offers a lineup designed to help you bring your adventures along for the ride.

Subaru Forester

The Subaru Forester is a popular choice for active families and pet owners who want a versatile SUV for everyday driving and weekend adventures. Its spacious interior and available features make it well suited for trips with passengers, gear and four-legged companions.

Subaru Outback

The Subaru Outback combines SUV capability with a comfortable, adventure-ready design. If your ideal weekend involves hiking trails, camping, road trips or exploring somewhere new with your dog, the Outback is worth a closer look.

Subaru Crosstrek

The Subaru Crosstrek offers a compact SUV format that’s easy to maneuver around town while still being ready for outdoor adventures. It’s a great option for drivers who want Subaru capability in a smaller package.

Subaru Ascent

For larger families, the Subaru Ascent offers three-row seating and plenty of versatility. It can provide the additional passenger and cargo space you need when everyone is coming along for the adventure.
